thk u 4 sdg me this, i run Linux/Debian 2.06.07/Ubuntu 11.04/10 on a HP AMD64 set-up. only thing I have since discovered is thhat this set-up, (mine), is almost immune to 'Crash' effects so far. it's been in it's present set-up since 03/24/2013, it's 04/03 now & have had 9 crashes, after which I just boot-up again, right back to the same page, usually. win7 never had this capability & I ran that on this system 4 over a year, B4 investagating & then installing my present set-up. Sorry to say was not a short process, 7/9 weeks, counting crash times & internet re-connects, was a horrible experience & would not wish it on anyone. My Question is: How can I do the Same 4 my HP AMD64 G61 series Note-book, with-out the lenghty Install & Crash times? I might add, that my notebook PC has been neglected, Because I suspect some-one tried to take it apart, while I was in Hospitol, this past Nov, 2012. yeah, it's been that long. do not even recall the Password I had set-up 2 open it, also has win7 installed now. any suggestions? other than just taking to a tech shop? Have got A Ubuntu Disk in cd/DVD drive at this moment, AC pwr on, Blank black screen, no curser flashing, no sound except disk spin, sounds almost like it's reading dsk, but no hic-up sounds at all. I know No code & can not write any code, in pc-language, altho am trying to study python & perl. i await response patiently.
